How to Check the Status of Your Edit Order

Video Status in Studio gives you full visibility into your editing pipeline, so you can plan, collaborate, and move faster - without chasing updates.

Updated today

Think of the Video Status portal as your tracking hub - like watching your Uber arrive or following a delivery. Instead of guessing where your video stands, you can see its progress in real time, step by step.

No more “Where’s my edit?” messages.

Everyone with Studio access sees the same up-to-date information. That means fewer interruptions, better alignment, and more time focused on creating.

Find the "Video Status" tab on your dashboard

Once you're inside Studio, look for the Video Status tool located in the top left corner of your dashboard.

This opens a centralized view of all your video edit orders.

Spot your edit order at a glance.

Videos are grouped into simple stages: Needs Info, Ready to Edit, In Editing, Quality Control, Edited, Completed.

As your project moves through each stage, updates happen instantly. The moment an editor progresses your video, you’ll see it reflected in Studio. No delays, no guesswork.

You’ll also see:

  • Who’s editing your video

  • Who requested the edit

  • When it was submitted

  • How long it’s been in each stage

No need to follow up - everything you need is already there.

Use filters and sorting to stay organized

If you're managing multiple projects, filters and sorting tools help you stay in control.

You can:

  • Search by editor, channel, project, or requester

  • Sort by submission date to view newest or oldest requests first

This makes it easy to prioritize work and keep track of everything in motion.

Navigate and take action from the portal

Video Status isn’t just for viewing - it’s your control panel.

From each project row, you can:

  • Click the eye icon to open the video in Media Studio

  • Leave feedback, comments, or request revisions directly in Media Studio

  • Mark a project as Needs Info if more details are required before editing can continue

  • Use the ellipses menu on the far right of your project to copy the Studio link for sharing or publishing workflows

Everything stays connected, so you always know where your video lives and what happens next.

Understand what each status means (and what to do next)

Each stage gives you a clear signal on where things stand and how to prepare:

  • Needs Info – The edit can’t begin yet because key details are still missing.

  • Ready to Edit – The project is in the queue, waiting to be picked up by an editor.

  • Quality Control – Your video is in review for polish and small tweaks. You can start locking in your publishing schedule with confidence.

  • Edited – The content has been polished and is now ready for approval or distribution.

  • Completed – Your video is ready to go live. No extra steps needed - you're good to publish.

Plan your next move - fast.

Use real-time status to coordinate publishing schedules, client reviews, or promotional plans. If your video's in Quality Control, you know when to prep your social assets. When it's marked "Edited," you can wrap up your copy, thumbnails, or metadata right away.

Why It's a Game Changer

  • Transparency at Every Step: Just open Studio - no extra emails or Slack pings.

  • Smarter, Faster Planning: Know exactly when your edit will land, so you can launch campaigns or schedule reviews.

  • Built-In Accountability: Editors and producers update status in real time—no surprises.

Start using Video Status today to track your edit order like you'd track dinner delivery. It's simple, fast, and gives you the peace of mind to focus on what really matters: creating great content.

A: Status updates are instant - no delays. As soon as an editor moves your video to the next stage, you'll see it in Studio.

Q: What if I don't see my video in the list?
A: First, make sure the video has been submitted for editing. If it's submitted but not showing up, refresh the page or check back in a few minutes - sometimes it takes a moment to appear.

Q: Who on my team can view the status?
A: Anyone with Studio access sees the same status screen. Creators, coordinators, and clients get one simple view - but you can only see content in the status queue if you have permission to see it.
