Why Is the "Request Revision" Button Greyed Out?

If the Request Revision button is grayed out or unclickable, here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.

If the Request Revision button is grayed out or unavailable in Media Studio, it's usually one of three things. Here's how to troubleshoot.

1. You're viewing an older version

Revision requests can only be submitted on the most recent version of your media. Check the version ribbon in the top left corner of the proofing room and make sure you have the latest completed version selected (furthest to the left). If you're on an older version, the button will be disabled.

2. The content is marked Complete

Once content is marked as Complete, no further revisions can be requested. Content is marked Complete in two ways:

  • You marked it yourself using the "Mark Complete" button in Media Studio.

  • It happened automatically. If 14 days pass with no new comments or revision requests after the latest version was delivered, MarketScale will auto-complete the content.

For more on how completion works, see How to Submit an Edit Request for a Completed Video.

3. A revision is already in progress

If you've already submitted a revision request, the button will be grayed out until the current edit cycle is complete. Check the editing status on your project:

  • In Editing -- an editor is actively working on your revision.

  • Quality Control -- the revised version is under review before being delivered back to you.

Once the new version is delivered, you'll be able to review it and request another revision if needed. For a full breakdown of editing statuses, see How to Check the Status of Your Edit Order.

Still stuck?

If none of the above apply and the button is still grayed out, reach out to your MarketScale lead and include a link to your project so we can take a look.
