Table of Contents

Overview

The Overview page is your "Radar," aggregating metrics across all tracked AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.).

  • Filters: Apply filters for date range, specific models, or tags to narrow your view.

  • Brand Mentions: The total count of text-based mentions in AI responses.

  • Visibility: The percentage of responses where your brand appears compared to the total volume.

  • AI Visibility Score: A position-weighted metric. You receive 100 points for a #1 ranking, 50 points for #2, decreasing down the list.

  • Share of Voice: Visualizes your dominance against competitors. Viewable as a pie chart, trend line, or percentage breakdown.

Prompts

This section manages the specific queries you track.

  • Prompt List: View and manage all active queries. You can delete irrelevant prompts individually or in bulk.

  • Prompt Detail Page: Clicking a prompt reveals granular diagnostics:

    • Mentioned vs. Seeded: "Mentioned" means your brand appears in the text; "Seeded" means your URL appears as a source link.

    • Matched Patterns: Shows exactly which "Matching Name" triggered the detection.

    • Fan-out Queries: Displays the background searches the AI performed on search engines (e.g., Google/Bing) to generate its answer.

Responses

The Responses tab is your historical archive.

  • History: Because AI answers change, this page stores responses permanently based on your retention plan.

  • Comparison: Navigate through previous dates to see how an answer looked in the past versus today.

  • Cadence: Data is tracked weekly by default but can be scheduled for daily or monthly updates.

Citations

This view analyzes the sources driving your visibility.

  • Citation Rate: Measures how frequently a specific link appears across all responses.

  • Source Breakdown: View citations grouped by Domain, Host, or Page.

  • Mentions You: A status indicator that confirms if the cited page actually contains a text mention of your brand (requires up to 24 hours to populate).

Sentiment

AI analyzes the qualitative tone of your mentions.

  • Sentiment Score: Responses are tagged from "Very Positive" to "Negative".

  • Topics Overview: A heatmap showing themes associated with your brand, such as "Features," "Design," "Performance," or "Ease of Use"

Pro Tip: Use the filters to sort by "Negative" to immediately identify reputation risks. Make these your top priorities for new content.

AI Model Insights

A matrix view for cross-platform analysis. Seven tabs along the top let you switch what you're comparing:

  • Mention Rate. Brand mentions per AI model.

  • Citation Rate. Citation frequency per AI model.

  • Net Sentiment Score. Sentiment compared across models.

  • AI Visibility Score. Your composite score per model.

  • Position Distribution. Where you rank in AI answers, by model.

  • Date Comparison. The same metric across two time periods.

  • AI Overview Results. Specifically how you appear in Google AI Overview results.

Use this view to spot model-specific gaps: strong in Gemini, weak in Perplexity, and so on.

Market Landscape

Benchmarks your brand against tracked competitors across reputation dimensions. Use this view when you need to answer the "are we winning or losing AI search?" question for leadership.

Four tabs sit at the top of the page:

  • Overview. The radar chart plus the AI Reputation Score ranking. Your default view.

  • Evolution. How your position has shifted over time.

  • Model Comparison. The same data, broken out by AI model.

  • Raw Data. The underlying scores, available for export.

The Overview tab plots every tracked brand on a Brand Comparison radar across seven dimensions (Quality, Identity, Trust, Reputation, Efficacy, Affinity, Authenticity). Right of the radar, the AI Reputation Score table ranks every brand by a composite score. Below the radar, the Dimension Breakdown ranks brands across four specific dimensions: Efficacy, Transparency, Affinity, and Authenticity.

For a full walkthrough, see How to read the Market Landscape tab.

Query Fan Out

This section aggregates the search data used by AI models.

  • Keyword Strategy: View the actual queries LLMs typed into search engines to find answers about you.

  • Filtering: Filter query data by prompt, tag, country, or language to refine your SEO keyword research.

Recommendations

Your execution engine. Recommendations bridges the gap between data and creation by using your specific account metrics (prompts, citations, and competitor gaps) to generate high-impact content strategies. Use this suite to prioritize your next moves and instantly create the assets needed to win.

Please Note: Recommendations features are currently in public beta.

The "Quest Board" for your content strategy.

  • Priority: Recommendations are sorted into High, Medium, and Low priority based on potential impact.

  • Context: Each card explains the "Why" (e.g., a content gap vs. a competitor) and provides specific action items.

  • Data-Driven: Recommendations are generated using your specific account data (prompts, mentions, and citations), not generic advice.

  • Status tracking: Tabs for Active, Completed, and Archived let you manage the queue.

  • Generate New Recommendations: The button in the top right runs a fresh batch based on your latest data.

View details to drill down on individual recommendations and view priority, action items, linked references and an estimate of impact based on your planned activities.

Prompt Research

More methods to expand your tracking coverage.

  1. Manual: Add prompts one by one.

  2. Bulk: Upload a list (one per line) and assign tags.

  3. People Also Asked: Indexes Google's "People Also Asked" questions based on a seed keyword.

  4. Reddit Insights: Surfaces prompts from Reddit conversations relevant to your topic.

  5. Topics: Generates prompts based on a broad topic category.

  6. Translate: Translates and localizes existing prompts for new international markets.

  7. Reputational Prompts: Generates prompts that target reputation, trust, and brand-perception questions.

GEO Optimization

Your AI search audit toolkit. Nine on-demand reports tell you whether AI engines can find your site, parse your content, and rank you against competitors:

  • AI Visibility Report. Comprehensive snapshot of how AI models see your brand across the prompts you track.

  • Crawlability. Checks whether AI bots (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) can reach and read your pages.

  • Schema. Audits structured data markup so AI engines can parse what you publish.

  • Content. Evaluates page-level content for AI readability.

  • Discoverability. Measures whether AI answer engines surface your site for the topics you care about.

  • Site Structure. Reviews your information architecture for AI navigation.

  • Shopping Feed. Validates a product feed for ChatGPT Shopping and other AI-powered commerce surfaces.

  • llms.txt. Generates a draft llms.txt file from your site.

  • robots.txt. Analyzes your existing robots.txt for AI bot access patterns.

Two controls live in the top right of the page: Run All Reports (the green button) runs every report at once. Individual Report (the dropdown) runs one. For a full walkthrough, see How GEO Optimization audits your site for AI search and How to generate reports in AI Visibility.

Exports

Pull any table out of AI Visibility as CSV or Excel. Most pages (Prompts, Citations, Sentiment, Market Landscape Raw Data) have a dedicated Export button. The Exports tab in the left navigation shows a history of every export your project has run. For a full walkthrough, see How to export data from AI Visibility.

AI Traffic

The AI Traffic tab under REPORTS shows real visitor sessions arriving at your site from AI referrers like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Mode. It closes the loop between AI visibility and actual visits to your site.

AI Traffic reads from your Google Analytics 4 property. Without that connection, the report stays empty. Connect GA4 using the steps below. For a full walkthrough of the report itself, see How to see your AI search traffic.

What the integration shows

  • Traffic by AI source: Visits broken out by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and other AI platforms as they emerge.

  • Top AI-referred landing pages: The pages on your site pulling the most traffic from AI answers.

  • Trend analysis: Traffic growth over time so you can correlate visibility improvements with real visit increases.

  • Conversion behavior: How AI-driven visitors behave once they land on your site.

How to connect

  1. In your Google Analytics 4 admin, add [email protected] as a user with Editor permission on the property you want connected to your channel.

  2. Let your MarketScale lead know, or send a quick note to support, that access has been granted.

  3. We will complete the connection on our end. No code changes and no changes to your GA4 configuration are required on your side.

Things to know

  • We only read data from GA4. We do not modify your GA4 configuration.

  • Data syncs roughly every 24 hours.

  • You can revoke our access from your GA4 admin at any time.

  • If your GA4 property covers multiple sites or brands, we will scope the integration so the data shown matches your channel.

Pro Tip: Pair AI Traffic with the Citations view. Citations tell you which pages AI is pulling from. AI Traffic tells you which of those pages are converting AI exposure into real traffic. Use that pairing to decide where to invest in deeper, more authoritative content.

Preferences

Use these preferences to customize your AI Visibility dashboard and reporting to suit your unique needs.

Competitors

Manage who you are benchmarking against.

  • Add Competitors: Use the "Suggested" list or manually add brands by name/ID.

  • Visualization: Customize chart colors for specific competitors to make reports easier to read.

Tags

Organize your data for better filtering.

  • AI Grouping: The system can automatically cluster your prompts into relevant groups (e.g., "Brand," "Local," "Social").

  • Manual Tags: Create custom tags and assign prompts manually or via CSV upload.

Pro Tip: Don't skip tags. Think of tags as the "connective tissue" of your strategy. While they may appear as a preference, they are a critical tool for performance analysis. Without them, your data is just a massive list of prompts; with them, you can instantly "slice and dice" your metrics to see how you're winning in specific product lines, industries, or high-intent buyer stages. Take five minutes now to cluster your prompts into tags so you can evaluate broad performance patterns rather than getting lost in individual responses.
