Captions and subtitles serve similar purposes but are not the same thing, and MarketScale handles them differently. Captions are text in the same language as the video's audio (for example, English captions on an English video). MarketScale automatically generates captions from the talk track of any content in your channel. This is a native platform feature. Subtitles are text in a different language from the video's audio (for example, Spanish text on an English video). MarketScale does not currently offer automatic subtitle generation in other languages.
Captions (same language)
MarketScale automatically generates captions from the talk track of any content in your channel. To publish them on the MarketScale player:
Open the video in Media Studio.
Open the Transcript / Subtitles panel.
Review and edit the auto-generated text, then save. The caption track will be available on the MarketScale player.
Subtitles (different language)
MarketScale does not offer a native feature that automatically generates subtitles in another language. If you need your content available in another language, that is handled through AI Translation, which uses AI to translate the video's audio into another language. It is distinct from captions and subtitles and operates as its own standalone feature. See How to Use AI Translation in MarketScale in the Related section below to learn more.
