Open Link Media Requests are the most powerful tool in MarketScale to crowdsource content from your community.
The Open Link Request feature in MarketScale Studio simplifies the workflow of collecting media by allowing you to create requests accessible via a unique link.
Why Should I Use Open Link Requests?
Open Links are ideal for large-scale community engagement initiatives where you don't know who might answer it.
MarketScale partners have successfully utilized Open Link for numerous applications, including:
- Customer testimonials and feedback
- Collecting media at conferences, tradeshows, exhibitions
- Large-scale company culture initiatives
- Education and training
- Research and surveys
NOTE: If you're sending a Media Request to colleagues or guests, use the standard Media Request for Colleagues and Guests.
How to Create an Open Link
Begin by navigating to your home feed. Open the Request tool.
When prompted to Choose a request type, select External Open Link.
From there, simply follow the system prompts to Add tag, Create your own prompt (or use a predefined template), and Choose an Approver.
To finish creating your Open Link, click Submit in the bottom right:
Congratulations! You've completed your Open Link. You'll see a Confirmation modal on screen to indicate you have successfully created the link, and you can copy the link directly to your clipboard using the button in the bottom right.
Your Open Link request and responses can now be tracked through your Sent Box within the Inbox. From the Sent Box, you can re-copy the link to your Open Link, edit the tags, and view Approved responses.Here is a direct link to your Sent Box.
How Does Open Link Work from the User Perspective?
Here is the link we created in the first section of this article. Follow along using this link, because Open Links will work a little differently depending on if you have an active MarketScale account and if you are already logged in.
If you're logged in to MarketScale when you click the Open Link
When you click the link, a modal window will appear showing:
- The person who created the request,
- The prompt(s), and
- The option to Record or Upload media to respond to the request.
From there, respond to the request as you prefer. Easy!
If you have a MarketScale account, but you're not logged in when you click the Open Link
When you click the link, a modal window will appear showing:
- The person who created the request,
- The prompt(s), and
- A prompt to input your email address for next steps.
Type in the the email associated with your MarketScale account and click Continue. Make sure you use your MarketScale email address so you can access the request through your profile.
You will then be prompted to log in with your password. Once logged in, you will see the prompt in the modal window.
If you don't have a MarketScale account when you click the Open Link
When you open the link, a modal window will appear showing:
- The person who created the request,
- The prompt(s), and
- A prompt to input your email address for next steps.
Type in the your email address and click Continue.
A new modal will appear asking you for your first and last name, fill them in and click Submit to continue.
You will then access the modal where you can Record or Upload your response to the prompt. Note, as a first time MarketScale user, you will be prompted to accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
