If you or a guest are having trouble joining a Conversation Room, it is almost always one of a handful of fixable issues. Walk through the steps below before blaming the platform, and most sessions will start recording within a couple of minutes.
Every guest added to a Conversation Room receives an email with a secure link. That email is the starting point for any troubleshooting.
Steps to join successfully
1. Locate the email invitation. Find the email with the Conversation Room link. Check spam or filtered folders if it is not in the inbox.
2. Click the Open Room button from inside the email.
3. Use the exact invited email address. If prompted to verify, enter the same email the invitation was sent to. Only invited addresses can enter the room.
Run a device test before you start
Once inside the Conversation Room, you will be prompted to test your connection and devices. This confirms your camera and microphone are ready so the recording starts clean.
Follow these steps:
Run the built-in device test to confirm audio and video quality before the session begins.
Allow access to camera and microphone in your browser. If access was denied earlier, reset the permission in the address bar and reload the page.
If you are still having trouble, try these
Use Google Chrome as your web browser for best compatibility.
Close unnecessary browser tabs, and avoid downloading or uploading files while recording.
Use a hardwired Ethernet connection when possible for the most stable network.
If Ethernet is not available, connect to your 5GHz Wi-Fi rather than the 2.4GHz band.
Disconnect from any VPN or network-filtering service.
Pause other streaming activity on the same network (Netflix, Zoom, large downloads).
Quit high-bandwidth apps like email, Teams, Slack, and cloud backup services.
Working through this checklist resolves the vast majority of access issues and sets your guest up for a clean, hassle-free recording.
