Overview

Most MarketScale Studio videos start with talking head footage — someone on camera sharing expertise. That content is valuable, but a steady talking head with no visual variety can lose viewers quickly. With specific direction in your edit request, you can get dynamic visuals that support your content without slowing production down.

Key Concepts

Dynamic visuals don't require custom 3D design or complex graphics. With the right direction in your edit request, editors can add text callouts, B-roll footage, branded lower thirds, and pacing variety that makes your video more engaging. The key is being specific. "Make it more dynamic" is not actionable direction — describe exactly what you're looking for.

Four Types of Dynamic Visual Direction That Work

1. Text callouts tied to key quotes
In your edit request, specify: "Add a text callout when the speaker says [quote or key phrase]." This cues the editor to pop text on screen at that exact moment — over the talking head, as a graphic overlay, or as a full-screen moment.

2. B-roll to illustrate concepts
Use the Complementary Clips field to describe the type of footage you want supporting your talking head. You can link to assets already in Studio, or describe the stock footage you're looking for: "I want visuals of over-the-road freight, shipping containers, and port footage." The more specific, the more likely the editor finds exactly what fits.

3. Pacing direction
Tell the editor how often you want visual cuts or changes: "Cut to a new visual every 20–30 seconds" or "Change the shot or visual element every 10 seconds to keep it moving." Setting a pace expectation helps the editor match the energy you're going for.

4. Branded lower thirds and animated elements
You don't need new logos or custom designs — your existing brand assets can be animated. Try direction like: "Have the logo sweep in as an animated lower third with a name banner." This adds polish without requiring heavy graphic work.

Where to Put This Direction in the Edit Request Form

  • Craft your clip — describe the must-see moments and how you want dynamic elements to appear throughout.

  • Complementary clips — describe or link to B-roll footage.

  • Additional notes and files — attach logos, slide decks, or images you want to appear on screen.

  • Examples field — link to a video with the kind of visual style you're going for and explain what you like about it.

  • Timeline comments — if there's a specific moment you want text to pop in, leave a timestamped note in the proofing room before submitting.

FAQs

Can I request stock footage even if I don't know exactly what's available?
Yes. Describe the type of footage you want — industry, setting, mood — and the editing team will find the closest match from the stock library.

What if I want the same visual treatment throughout the whole video?
State that in your Craft your clip section: "Apply consistent text callouts for key points throughout the video" or "Use B-roll to cut away from the talking head every 20–30 seconds throughout."

Is there a limit to how many dynamic elements I can request?
There's no hard limit, but being clear and realistic helps. Focus on the elements that matter most to the video's impact.
