What's the difference between "Requests" and "Request Edit Now"?

Confused by the two "request" features in MarketScale? Here's the difference between Requests (content collection) and Request Edit Now (editing submission).

Two Different Things with Similar Names

MarketScale has two features that both use the word "request" — and they serve completely different purposes. Here's a quick breakdown so you always know which one to use.

Requests (the content collection tool)

Requests is a tool for gathering content from other people. You send a Request to teammates, clients, or external contributors and ask them to record a video, upload a file, or type a text response. When they respond, their submissions come back to you in a centralized collector.

Think of it like a video survey — you're prompting others to send you content.

Where to find it: The Requests button in the top navigation bar of your Studio dashboard (it looks like a paper airplane icon).

Use it when you want to: Collect testimonials, gather team responses, source content from partners, or crowdsource video submissions.

Request Edit Now (the editing submission button)

Request Edit Now is a button inside Media Studio that sends your video to the MarketScale editing team. It's how you officially submit footage for professional editing — once you click it and complete the brief, your video enters the editing queue and your editor gets to work.

Think of it like placing an order — you're telling MarketScale's editors to start working on your video.

Where to find it: Inside Media Studio for any video you've uploaded or recorded. Click the Media Studio button on your media card, then look for Request Edit Now in the top right corner.

Use it when you want to: Send raw footage to be edited into a polished, branded video.

In Short

  • Requests = asking others to send you content

  • Request Edit Now = asking MarketScale's editors to edit your content

If you're trying to start a new video edit, head to your media card, click Media Studio, and look for the Request Edit Now button. If you don't see it, see Why don't I see the "Request Edit Now" button on my video?
