If your company has a parent brand and one or more sub-brands, divisions, or product lines that need their own look on video, you don't need to build a new Brand Book from zero for each one. Duplicate the one you've already perfected, swap the visual identity, and you're done in a few minutes per division.
Duplicate the parent Brand Book instead of starting empty
In MarketScale, open the Brand Book that's already set up for your main brand. Use the three-dot menu and choose Duplicate. You now have an identical copy that inherits every field you've already filled in, fonts, voice guidelines, intro and outro files, music preferences, the works. Starting from a populated duplicate is faster than building from scratch and also keeps the sub-brand's structure in sync with the parent.
Rename the duplicate so it's obvious which one belongs to which division
Rename the duplicated Brand Book immediately. Use the convention your team will recognize at a glance ("Parent Brand", "Division A", "Product Line X"). When a contributor opens the edit request submission form, they're choosing from a dropdown. Clear names prevent the wrong branding from getting applied to a video that's going to a different audience.
Swap logos, colors, and fonts to match the sub-brand's identity
Open the new Brand Book and replace the visual identity fields. Upload the sub-brand's transparent PNG logos (light and dark versions). Update the hex color codes. Update the headline and body fonts, including any Adobe font sync links. Anything that's visual identity belongs to the sub-brand. Anything procedural (voice, music, intro/outro structure) can usually stay the same as the parent unless the sub-brand has a deliberately different tone.
Pick the right Brand Book at edit request submission
The Brand Book only does its job if you select it at submission. When you submit an edit request in MarketScale, the form asks which Brand Book to apply. Choose the one that matches the audience for that video. The editors pick up the assets from the selected book automatically, so a video destined for Division A's customers gets Division A's branding without anybody needing to remember which logo or color goes where.
Try it this week
If your team has been producing one-off videos for a sub-brand and manually attaching branding each time, open MarketScale, duplicate the parent Brand Book, rename it, swap the identity fields, and run your next edit request through the new one. From that point on, the right branding gets applied automatically every time the right book is selected.
