Having trouble viewing or downloading media, or seeing a 404 error? There are a few common culprits. Walk through the sections below to diagnose and resolve the issue.
A. How to Download Videos from MarketScale
If you're having difficulty downloading videos, here's the step-by-step:
Log in at MarketScale.
Navigate to your Home page and locate the video you want to download.
Click the three dots in the upper-right corner of the video.
Select Download Media from the menu.
Choose your desired file format, the download will begin.
You can also trigger a download from different locations in MarketScale:
From the Home page:
From the Proofing room / Media Studio:
From the Gallery:
B. What a 404 Error Means
A 404 error in Chrome means the server couldn't find the file you're trying to access, the link is broken or the file is no longer available. Essentially, you're hitting a page that doesn't exist.
Common causes:
Mistyped URL.
The file has been deleted from the server.
The file has been moved without a redirect in place.
What to do:
Use Chrome. MarketScale is optimized for it.
Check the link for typos, or access the media from the homepage using the steps in section A.
Refresh the page.
Contact MarketScale Support if the issue persists.
C. Your Access Level May Be the Issue
Sometimes limited access comes down to your user profile. A few things to check:
Invitation-only access: MarketScale is invitation-only. You need to be invited either as a standard user through your organization or as a VIP guest.
User type limitations: Different user types have different levels of access. VIP Guests, for example, have restricted visibility and may not have full access to all features.
If you suspect this is the cause, check with your organization's admin to confirm you have the correct user type and permissions. If you're a VIP Guest, you may need to be added specifically as a collaborator to access certain media. If the issue persists, reach out to MarketScale Support or your DMS.

D. Check Your Internet Connection
A stable internet connection is critical for all MarketScale features, including media downloads. A strong, steady connection:
Prevents interruptions. A weak connection can cause downloads to pause, fail, or restart.
Speeds things up. A strong connection transfers data faster, reducing total download time.
Avoids corrupted files. Interrupted downloads may yield incomplete or broken files.
Reduces data loss. Some platforms limit download retries, an unstable connection could force you to start over.
Improves streaming-style downloads. If the platform supports progressive downloads or streaming, a steady connection ensures smooth playback without buffering.
For the best experience, use a wired connection or a strong Wi-Fi signal when downloading large media files.
