Requests on MarketScale make it easy to share your voice in one quick flow. Look out for a link in your inbox, a post in your feed, or a direct invite over email. Just answer and send, simple as that.
Part 1: Answer the Request
When you open the link, you’ll land on the request's intro screen. You’ll see the name of the request and who sent it. Hit Get Started to jump in.
FYI: If you're not currently logged in when you open a request, you'll automatically enter the workflow to respond as a guest participant. If you prefer to respond through your account, make sure to log in first.
Once inside, you’ll see the questions with instructions for how to respond. The request creator already chose which options you'll use, so just follow the instructions.
Requests have three response options:
Text. Type your response right in the box.
Upload. Drag and drop or browse your computer. Make sure your files are under 50GB altogether. We recommend chunking large uploads into several smaller submissions. Don't worry, all responses go to the same collector!
Video. Click Start. Your browser will ask to use your mic and camera, approve it and record. Click Stop when you're done. Your video is saved automatically, and you can play it back to make sure you like it and delete it and try again if you don't.
Make sure you hit the Stop button, not just the pause button. If you don't Stop the video then it will not automatically upload and process, which may lead to your video not being saved.
When you’re done, scroll down. It’s time to submit.
Part 2: Submit Your Contribution
Next, you’ll see Credit your contribution. What happens next depends on who you are:
If You’re Already Logged In
Nothing else to do here, your info’s already saved. Just click Submit and you’re done.
If You Have an Account (But Aren’t Logged In)
Type the email tied to your MarketScale account. The system recognizes you automatically. No password needed. Click Submit to finish.
If You’re New to MarketScale
Fill in a few quick details so the requester knows who you are: name, title, company. Click Submit to finish.
You’ll see a quick thank-you screen confirming your response was submitted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are quick answers to the most common questions about requests.\
Why does it say I am responding as a Guest?
By default, if you aren't logged in to MarketScale when you open the request, you'll answer as a Guest participant. This makes it easier for users to respond, especially if they're on the go. If you prefer to answer through your account, make sure to log in first.
I’m recording a video for a Request, what’s the correct flow?
Here’s the step-by-step:
Click Start in the video window
Click Stop when you're finished, your video will automatically upload, process, and save - just make sure you see the Success notification in the bottom of your screen
Review your video, and if you want to re-record hit the trash icon and go again
Heads Up: Your survey response is not saved until you click "Submit" on the whole survey, so make sure to finish the whole thing and click Submit!
Why is the Submit button not working?
If the Submit button is disabled, a required field is missing info. Check that:
All required text fields have input.
All required uploads/recordings are present.
You’ve scrolled fully to the bottom and completed the Submit section with your email address if you aren't already logged in when you open the Request.
What happens after I send my Request response?
Once you hit Submit:
You’ll see a confirmation screen once your response is successfully submitted.
Your contribution is delivered to the users who created the request.
How do I get my response into Media Studio?
To access the content from your response, navigate to the request in your Channel and click Responses.
You can see your response immediately after you submit it, but in order to get full access to the response you need to be the creator of the request, or have collaborator permissions on the request, or be an Admin in the channel in which the request was created.
Can I send a Request to myself to upload media?
Yes. Just send the request to yourself or use the link Collector. Open your request and respond normally. Your response will still be accessible in the Collector after submission just the same as anyone's
Is a Request the same as the old Media Request?
Yes, you can think of Requests like Media Request 2.0. They offer the same functionality but with more flexibility and easier responses across video, text, and file uploads.
Is a Request the same as Surveys?
Yes, we renamed Surveys to be Requests. No change to the functionality of the tool, and you have access to all the same features and benefits under the new name.
What's the difference between a Request and Requesting edits?
Requests are a tool you use to collect content. Send requests to teammates, customers, and industry partners to send their responses and assets so you can tap into the crowd for all of your content.
When you want to polish that content up and stitch together multiple clips you can bundle them in a Media Studio and request editing.
