Request Edit Now: How to Send Content for Editing

Learn how to send your videos for editing in MarketScale. This guide walks you through proofing, commenting, and submitting edit requests fast, so you can turn raw clips into polished, on-brand videos in one simple, self-serve workflow.

Updated yesterday

In MarketScale, any media can be sent in to edit and polish with just a few easy clicks.

Once you have created media in MarketScale, if you want to send it for editing, open the Editing room by clicking Media Studio in the bottom right of the media card.

Now that you're in the Media Studio, you can leave timestamped comments, attach files, and link additional uploads where needed to collaborate with your teammates and provide comprehensive notes and feedback for MarketScale to refine your media into a professional end product.

Note that all comments are associated with the timestamp of the video, and form a checklist on the right side.

Once you've fully "proofed" your media, click Request Edit Now in the top-right corner to submit your media to MarketScale for editing.

A modal will pop up on your screen with questions that will help MarketScale to fulfill your order:

NOTE: Use AI Assistant to automatically complete the following steps! Use the AI Assistant to autofill the brief by analyzing your uploaded content and context. This ensures a faster and more accurate submission.

Otherwise, you can manually answer the following questions:

  • Video type: Select the type that most closely matches the purpose of your media.

  • Orientation: Vertical or horizontal? When in doubt, choose Landscape, but Portrait is best for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

  • Publishing destination: Where are you primarily planning to use this media?

  • Craft your clip: How do you want your media to start and end, and is there anything key to include in the middle?

  • Complimentary clips: With your direction, MarketScale will include complimentary stock footage from our extensive libraries.

  • Vibe check: What is the tone of the video? What will sound best to your audience?

  • Video length: How long do you want the length of your media to be?

  • Examples: If you have a video you want us to emulate, link it!

Examples of commonly requested edits include removing stumbles or pauses from the video, focusing on the main speaker, and adding specific transitions or layouts for a more polished feel.

As you reach the bottom, you'll encounter the most important part of the Request Edit Now process: your Brand Book. Select the one that most closely matches your media. Learn more about Brand Books and how to build them here.

NOTE: Often, the first Brand Book (selected by default) is your general Channel branding. When in doubt, select that.

Finally, add any Additional Notes and Files you may have forgotten up to this point, and click Let's Create in the bottom middle of the modal.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed your edit request and the media is now with MarketScale for processing and fulfillment. You will see that the status indicator of your media is now adjusted to In Editing, and your order direction is included in the comment timeline on the right side:

MarketScale typically completes requested edits in 1-2 business days, so look out for your email notification that your media is ready and check back at the same URL to see your edited version.

Requesting Changes After the First Edit

Once your content has been edited and you want to request changes on the edited version, you'll use the Request Revision button instead of Request Edit Now. See How to Request a Revision in MarketScale Studio for the full walkthrough.

Troubleshooting Submission Issues

If the Request Edit Now button is grayed out or missing, see Why Is the Request Revision Button Greyed Out? for the common causes (older version selected, content marked Complete, or an edit already in progress).

If your submission does not appear to have reached the editing team, follow these steps:

  1. Repeat submission steps: Revisit the steps above to ensure all actions were completed correctly.

  2. Review comments and files: Double-check that timestamped comments or necessary supporting files are included to avoid delays.

  3. Confirm submission: Ensure that the Request Edit Now button was clicked, the brief is completed accurately, and the request was submitted properly.

  4. Additional support: If you encounter any issues accessing completed videos, or are unsure about the status of your project, let us know in this chat for additional support.

How Notifications Work When Edits Are Complete

Once the MarketScale production team finalizes the edits and conducts quality control checks, you will receive an email notification or portal alert. This message will include a direct link to the edited video and will guide you on reviewing the changes. The edited media will also remain easily accessible from the URL of the original upload.
