If you've submitted a video to MarketScale and it's sitting there days later in the same state, you're almost certainly running into one specific gap between the platform and how most people assume it works. The fix is one button click that nine out of ten stuck videos never actually got.
Pro tip: Commenting on a video is not the same as requesting an edit. The "Request Edit Now" button is what moves it.
Comments are notes, not work orders
The single most common reason a video stays stuck is that the contributor added comments in the proofing room but never clicked "Request Edit Now." Comments are notes; the editor doesn't start work on a video until the edit request is submitted. If you've been wondering why nothing's happening, this is almost always why. Open the video, scroll to the button, and click it. The work starts the moment that submission lands, not the moment your last comment did.
The form walks you through every field that needs answering
When you click Request Edit Now, the form steps you through what the editor needs. Brand book to apply. Video type. Orientation (landscape or portrait). Publishing destination. Crafting the clip brief (minimum 100 characters, which is a good forcing function). Examples to emulate. Target length. Any B-roll or extra notes. Each field exists because skipping it produces a worse cut. Fill them all in; the editor reads them all.
Use the 100-character minimum as a forcing function
The 100-character minimum on the clip brief isn't arbitrary. It's the lower bound on how much context an editor needs to make a real choice instead of a default one. "Make it good" is too short. "Sixty-second LinkedIn cut for VP-level enterprise buyers, lead with the pricing reframe at 2:14, drop the intro chitchat, keep the close" is the right length. Treat the field as a brief, not a quick caption.
Attach examples and B-roll so the editor has options
If you've got a reference video or B-roll that should be part of the cut, attach them on the form. Editors who have to ask for additional files burn a day waiting for the response. Front-loading every asset on the request means the editor opens the project and has everything they need to make V1 a finished cut, not a placeholder waiting for materials.
Try it this week
Open MarketScale right now and check whether any of your videos are stuck in submission. For each one, scroll past your comments, click Request Edit Now, fill out the form, and submit. Anything that's been sitting for more than a day moves into editing as soon as you do.
