2. From the Dashboard in MarketScale, click the green "Media Request" icon third from the left in the media creation window at the top of the page.
Once you have accessed Media Request, there are a few simple steps to complete and send the Request for your respondent. Start by choosing your Request Type, which is either...
Colleagues and Guests
Industry Experts
External Open Link
3. For this tutorial, we'll focus on Colleagues & Guests. In the Request type, if you're looking to send your Media Request to specific recipients, select "Colleagues and Guests".
PRO TIP: You can also select "External Open Link" to generate an open-access request. This operation is covered in this article.
PRO TIP: Looking to tap into the expertise of third party subject-matter experts, either for a soundbite or to feature in a long-form piece of content for your team? You can also select "Industry Experts" to pitch your media request to top thought leaders across B2B's most important verticals. This operations is covered in this article.
4. In the "Choose a colleague" section, simply select the user or users to whom you will send your Media Request. You can search for users by typing or copy and pasting their name or email. Simply click on their profiles to add them to the request.
NOTE: Sending a media request to someone who doesn't have an account in Studio yet? No worries! You are able to send one-time requests to external users by entering their email address. Just paste their email in to the search bar and hit Enter.
From here, you'll hit Next and fill out the "Add direction" section.
5. In "Add to folders", you can decide how to tag your video responses into specific folders. All videos uploaded to this Media Request will be auto-tagged into the folders you select. Simply click the "Add to folder +" icon, and either select an existing folder from "All folders," start typing the folder name to search for an existing folder, or type in a new folder name and press enter to save it as a tagged folder.
NOTE: Folders are more like hashtags, in that you can have multiple folders selected. This won't duplicate your videos, but rather will make them visible within multiple tagged folders.
6. In "Create your own prompt", enter your prompt or question in the text field. You have the option to add multiple prompts or questions by clicking the + icon to the right of the text field.
Prompts can be any mix of specific questions you want your respondents to answer, video upload instructions, or creative direction on content you want them to capture. Be creative, clear, and concise with your prompts!
PRO TIP: You also have the option to use Predefined Questions. MarketScale has a wealth of predefined question sets for numerous applications like sales, marketing, HR, and more.
PRO TIP: You also have the option to save your custom prompt or question by using the "Save as a template" option, as seen in blue to the upper right of the text box. Once you have input your prompt or question, just click Save as a template and follow the steps to title, file, and image your question set for use by any member of your team in the future.
7. Finally, use "Additional notes and direction" to include any additional notes, files, or guidance that will help your respondent to successfully fulfill your request.
PRO TIP: You can attach files to this section if you have items like outlines or presentations that will help your respondent to best respond to the request.
9. After finishing the "Add direction" section, you will need to select an approver. To do this, simply click the profile icon for the teammate or teammates you need to approve your media for collaboration and editing.
Selecting multiple approvers does NOT introduce a consensus mechanism. Approvers all get the ability to green-light responses, so choose anyone here who you want to be able to move content along from the Inbox to your main feed.
PRO TIP: When in doubt, simply select yourself as the approver. Your Administrators will be able to follow along with the media whether they are listed as approvers or not!
10. If you want to control who will see the content submitted over this Media Request once it's on the home feed, you can adjust the Privacy settings for your request. Content will auto-populate your home feed for your whole organization. Under "Privacy", you can select options like "Only Me + Organization Admins", or select specific Groups where you want this content to land.
11. Finally, click "Submit" in the lower right corner to finalize and send your request.
12. The platform will yield a "Request Confirmation" window where you can see your inputs. Simultaneously, the platform will send an email notification to your respondent. They will be able to click the CTA in their email notification to access the platform directly to record or upload their media.
