Uploading media should be easy
Most content gets shot on mobile. Events, customer visits, team outings. Upload lets you drop those assets into Studio instantly so you can organize, approve, and publish without any heavy lifting.
Pro tip: We made some updates to our user interface since this video was filmed. We kept everything simple and in the same spots, so you won’t have to relearn anything. It’s just a cleaner, faster, no-frills layout that gets you where you need to go.
How to Upload
Hit Upload in the toolbar.
Fill in the basic requirements:
Title: Give your content a clear name so you can find it later.
Add files: Click Add files and select your files or drag and drop them into the window.
Approver: Choose who needs to sign off on your files.
These fields are optional:
Raw Footage: Tick box if you want the content in folders only and NOT on the timeline. This would be for bulk b-roll uploads, for example. These are assets you can use and reuse later on.
Folder: Add your files to a folder so everything stays organized. Choose an existing one, or make a new one right there.
Privacy/Groups: If applicable, select privacy settings and add the upload to a group to control who can view the content.
Then hit the Start Upload the button in the bottom right and let it rip.
Be patient. Uploading can take time, especially for large files or uploads with lots of files. Don’t close your browser until you see the confirmation or you'll have to start over.
Upload via Box & Dropbox
We can't use your content if it's in Box or Dropbox. But there's no need to download files just to re-upload. Link your Box or Dropbox account and bring content in with zero hassle. Once the content is in MarketScale you can use it just the same you would any other content.
Uploading from Mobile
Since most content is shot on mobile, MarketScale is optimized to work in your mobile browser. Just go to studio.marketscale.com on your mobile browser and log in. You can navigate to the Upload tool same as on desktop.
Pro tip: Don't try to record on MarketScale if you're shooting on mobile. It's best to use your camera app on your phone and then Upload later. Remember, if you're recording on MarketScale you're recording using your connection, and on mobile that often means you're using your data. Even on 5G it may lead to bad looking pixelated videos. Best to get a high-quality recording on your phone and upload later when you have a solid Wi-Fi connection.
Tips for Successful File Management
Use clear, descriptive file names: Help approvers know what they’re looking at instantly, and so you can find your content later.
Mind the limits: MarketScale can take 50GB per upload and up to 100 files per upload. If either limit is reached your upload will fail.
Chop it up. Remember, the bigger the upload and the more files included, the longer it takes. It's best to do lots of smaller uploads and add them to the same folder.
Stay patient but proactive: Large files take time, even if your connection rocks. If your Upload stalls, check your network and retry.
Your connection matters: Always opt for a hardwired connection. If you don't have one, opt for your 5G Wi-Fi. If you're on mobile, make sure you're connected to high-speed Wi-Fi or wait to upload until you can get it.
Group related assets: You can bundle them in a folder. When in doubt, opt for lots of smaller uploads organized in the same folder.
