What to Do When Your Feedback Went to the Wrong Place

Left feedback in the wrong place? This article walks you through how to move it to the Media Studio proofing room so your editor actually sees it.

Overview

It happens — you left feedback on your video, but it ended up in the feed comment section instead of the Media Studio proofing room. Don't worry. This article walks you through what to do so your notes actually reach your editor and your video gets updated.

Why This Happens

When you see a completed video in Studio, there's a comment section visible right below it on the dashboard. It's a natural place to want to leave notes — but this section is meant for team conversation, not editing direction. Editors only look at the proofing room inside Media Studio.

How to Get Your Feedback to the Right Place

  1. Go to the video on your dashboard and click Media Studio.

  2. Watch the video inside the proofing room and add your feedback as timestamped comments. For example: note the time code, then write your instruction — "at 0:42, update the lower third color to match our brand book" or "at 1:10, use a different outro."

  3. As you add notes, they'll appear along the right-hand side of the proofing room, building a clear revision list.

  4. Before clicking Request Revision, make sure everyone on your team has had a chance to review and add their notes too — consolidating all feedback in one pass saves time.

  5. Click Request Revision in the upper right corner.

  6. You'll be asked to confirm, then rate the edit on a 1–5 star scale. Rate the editor's performance on this version — not whether you're finished with revisions.

  7. Hit Request Revision to officially send it back to editing.

Best Practices

  • Always consolidate all team feedback before hitting Request Revision — this avoids multiple back-and-forth cycles.

  • Use timestamps in your comments so the editor knows exactly where each change applies.

  • If you have questions during the revision process, your editor may reach out directly through the proofing room for clarification.

FAQs

Will my feed comments be lost or ignored?
They won't cause any harm, but they won't reach the editor either. You'll need to re-enter those notes inside the Media Studio proofing room.

What does the star rating mean when requesting a revision?
The star rating reflects the quality of the editor's work on this version — not whether you want changes. If the edit was well executed but you want adjustments, give a high rating and use the revision notes to explain what you'd like changed.

What happens after I submit the revision request?
The editor who worked on your project gets notified, picks it up, makes the changes, and uploads a new version. The MarketScale team reviews it before it comes back to you.
