Overview
If you've added comments to your video but nothing has moved to editing yet, there's a good chance the notes ended up in the wrong place — or the edit request was never officially submitted. Here's what to check and how to get your project moving.
The Two Most Common Reasons a Video Gets Stuck
1. Comments were left under the dashboard video, not inside Media Studio.
The comment section below your video on the main dashboard is meant for team conversation. Editors don't see these notes. To send feedback to an editor, you need to be inside the Media Studio proofing room.
2. The edit request was never submitted.
Even if you've added notes in the right place, your video won't move to editing unless you click Request Edit Now (for a first edit) or Request Revision (for changes to a completed edit). Comments alone don't trigger action.
How to Get Your Video Into Editing
Go to your video on the dashboard and click Media Studio.
Inside Media Studio, click Request Edit Now.
Fill out the edit request form:
Brand book — select the brand book for this video.
Title — give your video a clear name.
Video type — choose the category that fits (thought leadership, culture, product demo, etc.).
Orientation — horizontal or vertical.
Destination — web, social, event, etc.
Craft your clip — describe your vision for the beginning, middle, and end. This field has a 100-character minimum.
B-roll — add any specific footage requests or links to assets already in Studio.
Vibe — select the tone/energy you're going for.
Video length — specify a target duration.
Example — link to a reference video if you have one.
Additional notes — anything else the editor needs to know.
Click Let's Create to officially submit.
Once submitted, you'll see the status update in your feed — it will show as "editing" or similar.
FAQs
I left comments under the video. Will those notes be lost?
They won't go anywhere, but they won't reach the editor either. Re-enter those notes inside the Media Studio proofing room and then submit via Request Edit Now or Request Revision.
What does the 100-character minimum on "Craft your clip" mean?
It's there to make sure editors receive enough context to execute your vision. If your video is very simple and you're struggling to hit the minimum, keep the note short but clear — don't pad it with filler.
How will I know the video is in editing?
Once you submit, your video's status will update in your feed. You'll also receive an email notification when the edit is complete.
