Folders are an essential tool for organizing your content in MarketScale, improving searchability, and enhancing collaboration. This guide will walk you through how to create folders for effective media organization.

Note: Folders are NOT like your usual computer folder with a stiff file path. MarketScale Studio Folders act more like tags or hashtags. Videos can be tagged into multiple folders without being duplicated, meaning you can view that same video in the context of different folders, and therefore different organizational needs.

How to Add Media to a Folder

There are two ways to add media to a folder in MarketScale Studio:

Method 1: Adding Media to a Folder During Upload

Adding media to a folder during the upload process ensures that your content is organized from the start, saving time and making it easier to manage files later.

  1. Log in to your MarketScale account.

  2. Click Upload in the toolbar to open the upload interface.

  3. Provide a title for your media, then click Add files or drag and drop them into the upload box.

  4. In the upload settings, select an existing folder or create a new one before starting the upload.

  5. Choose an approver if necessary and click Start Upload to complete the process.

Note: This process also applies to other media you capture or set-up in the platform. Immediately after recording a piece of media in the Recording Room, or while setting up the infrastructure of a Media Request, you can tag your videos with a folder or multiple folders.

Method 2: Adding Media to a Folder from After Upload

Any piece of uploaded media, regardless of when it was added to Studio, can be assigned to a folder at any time. This allows for flexible organization and ensures no content is ever lost or forgotten.

  1. Locate Media: Identify the media you want to organize from your dashboard or home feed.

  2. Click on the Folders + button located at the bottom left of the media card.

  3. A pop-up modal will appear. Begin typing the name of an existing folder.

  4. Select the appropriate folder from the list, or if the desired folder does not exist, create a new one by typing the name and pressing Enter.

Your folder is now attached to the media card.

Remember that you can add media to one or multiple folders. This allows for flexibility in tagging for short-term organization, long-term organization, and even for production purposes to launch an edit out of a folder view.

Note: To remove media from a folder, click the X next to the folder name on the media card.
