You might be wondering why you should involve Industry Experts in your marketing. The reality is that today's audiences are increasingly skeptical of overtly promotional content; to cut through the noise, you need to earn genuine trust. This is where expert insights are crucial. Featuring soundbites from third-party experts provides valuable validation, positioning your company as a connected thought leader. It demonstrates that you aren't just talking about yourself, but rather facilitating a conversation with the influential professionals who matter most.


The Upgrade: From Requests to Surveys

We have upgraded the way you connect with these thought leaders. Previously, you would select a single expert and send them a direct media request.

Now, we utilize Surveys to give you broader reach.

Instead of a "one-to-one" model where you hope one specific person answers, we now use a "one-to-many" model. When you send a survey to an Industry Expert category (e.g., Healthcare), it is sent to every expert in the MarketScale ecosystem associated with that category.

This ensures you get more diversity of thought, faster responses, and access to experts you might not have known existed.


Step-by-Step: How to Launch an Industry Expert Survey

  1. Open Surveys. From your main channel feed, click Surveys in the media creation bar.

  2. Start a New Survey. Hit Create in the top-right corner to open the builder.

  3. Set Your Survey Details. In the Survey Settings sidebar, fill in the essentials to give the experts context:

    1. Title: Give your survey a clear name.

    2. Description: Briefly explain what you are looking for.

    3. Folder: Organize where the media will live.

    4. Collaborators: Add teammates who need to help manage the responses.

  4. Add Your Questions Click + Add New Question.

    1. Since you are looking for soundbites, choose Record Video as your response type (though you can also ask for Text, or leave it up to the Experts and select multiple types or any response type).

    2. Type your prompt. This could be a question about a trending topic, a prediction for the coming year, or a best practice query.

    3. Tip: Because this is going to a broad group, ensure your prompt is clear and engaging.

  5. Finish and Publish. Once you are happy with the setup, click Finish in the top right corner. You will now be asked to choose your collection method.

  6. Select "Industry Experts". You will see three options for sharing your survey (Shareable Link, Channel Users, and Industry Experts). Select Industry Experts.

  7. Choose Your Category (The "One-to-Many" Step). Instead of searching for one person by name, you will now select the Industry Category relevant to your topic.

    1. Note: Once you select a category, the system prepares to send your survey to all qualified specialists in that field within the MarketScale community.

  8. Start Collector Click Start Collector. Your request is now pitched to the network!


Managing Responses

As responses come, you'll see them compile in the Responses section for your Survey, which you can navigate to from your Feed or the Surveys page. Just find your Survey card and click Responses to open the Collector.

Remember, you pitched this to a group rather than an individual, so keep an eye on your notifications. You may receive multiple soundbites from different thought leaders, giving you a variety of perspectives to use in your content.

Once the responses arrive, you can use the "Create Video from Response" feature to instantly turn that expert insight into ready-to-publish content.
