If you’re not already involving industry experts in your marketing, you’re behind. Businesses and consumers have learned to tune out brand-led promotion, and the companies setting the pace have adjusted accordingly. They use third-party experts to establish credibility, add context, and signal relevance. Expert perspectives don’t “support” the message. They validate it. The result is marketing that feels informed rather than self-interested, and brands that are seen as part of the conversation, not just talking at it.
MarketScale has a built-in feature to send requests to benches of industry experts across dozens of industries. Rather than sending your request to one expert, or several experts, MarketScale uses a "one-to-many" model to share your request with every expert in the MarketScale ecosystem associated with that category. This ensures you get more diversity of thought, faster responses, and access to experts you might not have known existed.
Step-by-Step: How to Launch an Industry Expert Request
Open Request. From your main channel feed, click Request in the media creation bar.
Start a New Request. Hit Create in the top-right corner to open the builder.
Set Your Request Details. Title your request and then proceed to add at least one question. Additional options include:
Description: Briefly explain what you are looking for.
Collaborators: Add teammates to help manage the responses.
Custom Terms & Conditions: Include these if your org requires them.
Add Your Questions. Click + Add New Question.
Since you are looking for soundbites, choose Record Video as your response type (you can also ask for Text, or leave it up to the Experts and select multiple response types or any response type).
Add your prompt. For example, ask a question about a trending topic, or for a prediction for the coming year, or for a best practice recommendation. It's up to you.
Finish. Once you are happy with the setup, click Finish in the top right corner. You will now be asked to choose your collection method.
Select "Industry Experts". You will see three options for sharing your request (Shareable Link, Channel Users, and Industry Experts). Select Industry Experts.
Choose Your Category (The "One-to-Many" Step). Instead of searching for one person by name, you will now select the Industry Category relevant to your topic.
Note: Once you select a category, the system prepares to send your request to all qualified specialists in that field within the MarketScale community.
Start Collector Click Start Collector. Your request is now pitched to the network!
Managing Responses
As responses come, you'll see them compile in the Responses section for your Request, which you can navigate to from your Feed or the Requests page. Just find your Request card and click Responses to open the Collector.
Remember, you pitched this to a group rather than an individual, so keep an eye on your notifications. You may receive multiple soundbites from different thought leaders, giving you a variety of perspectives to use in your content.
Once the responses arrive, you can use the "Create Video from Response" feature to instantly turn that expert insight into ready-to-publish content.
FAQs and Pro Tips:
Here are the answers to some common questions, and some recommendations from our experts to make your requests as effective as possible:
You're sending your request to a broad group, so make sure the prompt is clear and engaging.
Experts don't have to respond. The more interesting your request, the more likely they will want to answer it.
If you want to send a request to multiple industries, first send to one industry, then duplicate the request from Your Requests and send with a different collector.
