Creating a new project from a folder lets you start a fresh edit using content you already have. Select any combination of videos and clips, name the new project, and send it to editing. Your originals stay intact, so you can build as many versions as you need.
Create a new project from a folder
Open the folder that holds the content you want to use. If your content is not in a folder yet, add it to any folder and click in to locate it.
Under Project Deliverables, use the checkbox to select the videos and clips you want to include.
Click Create Media Studio in the action bar at the bottom of the screen, then enter a name.
You land in your new Media Studio, already holding the content you selected. Add your editing instructions there.
Click Request Edit Now and follow the steps to submit.
Your original content is preserved, and each new project keeps its own instructions and versions.
Which card should I select?
The badge on each card tells you what you are grabbing, and it matters more than it looks:
Completed is a finished video. Build from this one when you want another pass on work that is already done — your editor picks up from where that version left off.
Available for Editing has not been through editing yet. Build from this one when you are starting a genuinely new edit.
Building on finished work? Select the card badged Completed, not the original raw upload. The completed video carries its project history, so your editor can see everything that produced it. Starting from raw content means starting the edit from scratch.
When to use this
Combine clips from different recordings into one new edit.
Create an alternate version in a different length, size, or format.
Get more changes on a video that is already marked Complete, since completed videos are locked and no longer take revision requests.
Start a new edit from existing content without changing the original.
Save yourself the retyping
If you build alternate versions often, save your order once and apply it to each new project. A Saved Order carries your brief — format, branding, and instructions — so you are not filling in the same form every time.
