How to Create a New Project from a Folder

Start a new edit from content already in your folders. Select the clips or projects you want, create and name a new project, and send it to editing while your originals stay intact.

Creating a new project from a folder lets you start a fresh edit using content you already have. Select any combination of projects and clips, name the new project, and send it to editing. Your original files stay intact, so you can build as many versions as you need.

Create a new project from a folder

  1. Open the folder that holds the content you want to use. If your content is not in a folder yet, add it to any folder and click in to locate it.

  2. Use the checkbox to select the project(s) and clip(s) you want to include.

  3. Click Create Project and enter a name for your new project.

  4. In Media Studio, add your editing instructions.

  5. Click Request Edit Now and follow the steps to submit.

Your original content is preserved, and each new project keeps its own instructions and versions.

When to use this

  • Combine clips from different recordings into one new edit.

  • Create an alternate version in a different length, size, or format.

  • Start a new edit from existing content without changing the original.
