How to Manage User Permissions in MarketScale

Learn how to manage roles, update access, and control user permissions in MarketScale with this simple, step-by-step Admin guide.

Updated this week

As an Admin, you have exclusive access to manage your channel's users and their permissions. This includes the exclusive ability to view, add, remove, and adjust the permissions of every user who has access to your channel.

Whether you’re responsible for onboarding new team members, updating existing roles to reflect changing responsibilities, or maintaining security by removing outdated accounts, the Users dashboard provides all the tools you need in one place.

NOTE: The Users page is restricted to Admins only. Standard and Guest users will not see or be able to open this page.

Step 1: Open the Users Page

  • Click your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.

  • Once you do this, a dropdown menu will appear. Here, look for the Admin Actions section and select Users.

Step 2: Explore the User List

Once you’re on the Users page, you’ll see a table view showing everyone who has access to your channel.

  • Each row represents a user, along with details like their role and status.

  • To quickly find someone, type their name or email address into the search bar.

Step 3: Use Filters to Refine Your View

If you have a long list of users, filters make it easy to find exactly who you need. You can filter by:

  • Channel – View users from one or more specific channels. Search for a channel by name, check the box next to it, and click Save.

  • Role – Narrow down by role, such as MS Admin, Admin, Member, VIP Guest Pass, or Expert.

  • Status – See users based on their current status, including Active, Deleted, Invited, Unverified, or Inactive.

Remember, you can use a single filter or combine multiple—for example, showing only Active Members in a particular channel.

Step 4: Edit User Permissions

You might need to update a user’s permissions if their role changes, if they require more access, or if they should no longer be part of the channel.

To update someone’s access:

  1. Find them in the user list.

  2. Then, click the pencil icon next to their name.

  3. Now, choose one of the available actions:

    • Change their role – e.g., promote a Guest to a Member.

    • Remove them from the channel.

    1. Delete their account – this permanently removes their access and data, so use with caution.

Updating user permissions in MarketScale Studio is quick and simple, and support is always available if you need it. Remember, you can reach out through live chat, email MarketScale support, or contact your UGC Coach for personalized assistance.
