Add subtitles in the original language
If you want captions in the language the video is already spoken in (for accessibility, sound-off viewing, social posts), MarketScale auto-generates a transcript that you can publish as subtitles.
Open the video in Media Studio.
Open the Transcript / Subtitles panel.
Review and edit the auto-generated text, then save. The subtitle track is available on the player.
Add subtitles in a different language
To translate spoken audio into another language (for example, Spanish video → English subtitles, or Chinese video → English subtitles), use the Request Translation tool.
Upload your video to MarketScale.
Open the video in Media Studio.
Click Request Translation in the bottom-right of the page.
Choose the target language for your subtitles.
Submit the request. You'll get a notification when the translated subtitles are ready.
Review and edit the translated text in the subtitle editor before publishing—AI translation is fast, but a human pass catches names, jargon, and brand-specific terms.
Heads up: AI translation works best with clear audio. If your source video has heavy background noise, overlapping speakers, or very strong accents, expect to spend more time editing the translated subtitles.
Languages supported
Translation supports a wide range of languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and more. If you don't see the language you need, contact your UGC Coach—we can usually accommodate it.
