What's Happening
If you're trying to attach a file to a comment in the Media Studio editing and proofing room — and it won't go through — you've likely hit the 50 MB limit for comment attachments.
You may notice a red circle appearing near the Submit button, and the button will appear grayed out. That's the system's way of telling you the attachment exceeds the 50 MB limit for the comment field.
Note: This limit only applies to non-video attachments added directly in the Media Studio comment box (such as documents, PDFs, large images, or other files). It does not affect uploading video content to the platform through the standard upload flow.
Why Does This Limit Exist?
Every comment left in the Media Studio is timestamped to a specific moment in the video. This is by design — it helps editors know exactly when in the video a change is needed, rather than sifting through a wall of information.
When too much data is packed into a single comment, it creates confusion for the editing team. Editors are working through a checklist of timestamped actions, and an oversized attachment can disrupt that workflow and make it harder for them to act on your feedback quickly and accurately.
The comment box is built for targeted, moment-specific direction — not for delivering large files.
What to Do Instead
The good news: there's a better way to share exactly what you need at the right moment.
Option 1: Upload a photo or image directly
If you're trying to share a visual reference (a logo, a screenshot, a graphic, a frame of reference), take a screenshot or export it as an image file (JPG or PNG). Images are lightweight and attach cleanly to a timestamped comment without overwhelming the editor.
Option 2: Reference the exact asset you want used
Rather than attaching a large file, describe or link to the specific asset. For example:
"Use the logo saved in our shared folder — the horizontal version."
"Insert the product photo from the shoot on March 15."
"Add the lower-third graphic titled 'John Smith, VP of Sales'."
Clear, specific direction is often more useful to an editor than a large file.
Option 3: Break your feedback into multiple comments
If you have a lot of direction to give, leave separate timestamped comments at each relevant moment in the video. This keeps each note focused and actionable.
Quick Reference
