How to Create and Manage Surveys on MarketScale

Surveys (formerly Media Requests) are a powerful tool for crowdsourcing content from your community. Collect video, text, and other media at scale from your team, customers, technology partners, and our global network of industry experts.

Surveys make it easy and fast to crowdsource content. Video, text, and media—collect content from your team, customers, or MarketScale’s network of verified experts.

This guide walks you through building surveys, sharing surveys, and turning survey responses into ready-to-publish content.

Part 1: Create Your Survey

Open Surveys

From your main channel feed, click Surveys in the media creation bar.

You’ll see every survey you have access to, sorted by stage: In Progress, Draft, Completed, Paused, and Templates.


You can manage a survey if you created it, were added as a collaborator, or are a Channel Admin.

Start a New Survey

Hit Create in the top-right corner to open the builder.

Set Your Survey Details

In the Survey Settings sidebar:

  • Add a Title (required) and Description (optional).

  • Set a Close Date if you want it to auto-stop.

  • Add a Cover Image and organize with Folders.

  • Drop in any Custom Terms & Conditions if your org requires them.

  • Add Collaborators who can manage the survey and view the results.

Add Questions

Click + Add New Question and choose a response type: Text, Upload, or Record Video.


Each question can include an optional description, and you can mark it required.
Mix formats freely. One survey, many ways to reply.

Preview, Save, and Publish

When you’re happy with the setup, use the top-right buttons: Preview, Save as Template, or Finish to publish and choose your collection method.


Part 2: Collect Responses

Shareable Link (Easy)

Creates a single URL for anyone to use — perfect for newsletters, emails, or QR codes.

Send to Channel Users (Direct)

Delivers the survey to selected users in your channel. They’ll see it in-app and by email.

Industry Experts (Premium)

Instantly tap MarketScale’s verified expert network for third-party insights and testimonials.

After choosing your method, click Start Collector to send your survey or generate your link.


Part 3: Manage & Review Responses

Surveys appear in two places, the Feed and Your Surveys.

The Feed

Live surveys appear pinned for quick access. Copy the link or open Responses to view submissions.

Each survey card under Your Surveys shows its response count and quick actions.

Response Collector Page

Click View Responses to open all submissions. The right panel lists each response; the main panel plays videos, shows text, and displays uploads.


Part 4: Turn Responses into Content

Select a Response

Choose one from the sidebar to review.

Choose Your Action

  • Create Video from Response: build from one submission.

  • Create Video from All Responses: combine media from separate submissions.

Pick Media and Create Request

Check the files you want, then click Create edit request.

Edit in Media Studio

You’ll land in a new Media Studio with your chosen media ready to go. Leave notes and request an edit, work with auto-generated transcripts, add translations, leverage AI Writing - it's up to you.

Your new Media Studio also has a card on the feed, just the same as any approved content.
